Skillman Of Jasper Named Mental Attitude Award Winner
Andrew Skillman of
Andrew ranks 24th in his class of 235 and
is a member of the National Honor Society and earned a position on the
National Honor Roll. He is also
secretary of the FCA and a member of the Spanish Club. He is involved with Young Life and the
Christian Youth Organization. He served
as a
He was a 2001 and 2002 state doubles finalist and named first team
All-State Doubles. Andrew is also a member of the Wildcats’ golf
team and was a two-time All Big-8 Conference selection and a Big-8 Champion
this past season, as well as a team state finalist.
Andrew is the son of Carol and James Skillman of Jasper,
The award is presented to an outstanding senior participant in the boys’
tennis tournament by
the IHSAA Executive Committee. The
recipient of the award, who was nominated by his principal and coach, must
excel in mental attitude, scholarship, leadership and athletic ability. Farm Bureau Insurance, IHSAA corporate
partner, presented a $1,000 scholarship to
