Despite the cold, windy, raw conditions
on the North Central (Indpls.) High School courts, the
The Greyhounds (21-0) defeated Delta (26-1) in the morning
semi-final round, 4-1. Delta’s only win
coming in #1 doubles. Meanwhile, in the
morning session, Penn (16-1) was defeating Terre Haute North (17-4) by the same
score, as the Patriots dropped only one match, #3 singles.
That set up the title confrontation, with the Greyhounds rolling
over the Kingsmen, 5-0, in straight sets in each
match.
It was the 81st state championship overall for

playing #1 singles for the state champions in both 2003 and 2004. He was named to the All-Hamilton County
Team. His current USTA rankins for boys 18 years of

other school activities included a four-year membership on the Student Athletic
Board; Speech Team; Freedom’s Answer Volunteer; and NCAA Stay In Bounds Ambassador.
Academically,
he ranks 9th in his class of 822 and is a
National Merit Scholar Commended Student.
He was a member of the Top 25 Academic Scholar roll all four years at
