PARK TUDOR CAPTURES THIRD
IN A ROW
In a
rematch of last year, Park Tudor captured its third consecutive state
championship with a 4-1 victory over
The victory
marked Park Tudor’s fifth state title in girls tennis, all under the
guidance of coach Dave Heffern. The Panthers also won it all in 1998 and 2000. It
was just the second rematch in the history of the tournament after Evansville
Memorial bettered

JASPER’S
MARGOT ECKERLE NAMED MENTAL ATTITUDE AWARD WINNER
Following
the state championship match, members of the IHSAA Executive Committee
presented Jasper’s Margot Eckerle with this year’s Mental Attitude
Award for Girls Tennis.
The award
is presented annually to a senior participant in the state finals who was
nominated by her principal and coach and has demonstrated excellence in mental
attitude, scholarship, leadership and athletic ability.
Eckerle is
a four-year participant in both tennis and soccer and helped Jasper to a third
place finish this year while playing No. 1 doubles.
Academically,
she ranks sixth in her senior class of 262 students while enrolled in Jasper’s
Honors and accelerated curriculum. She also graduated with an Indiana Academic
Honors Diploma and will enroll at

daughter of Greg and Brenda Eckerle of Jasper.
Indiana
