TIFFANY REDLARCZYK OF LAKE CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL

NAMED ROBERT S. HINSHAW MENTAL ATTITUDE AWARD WINNER

 

ญญญญญญญญญญญญญญญญTiffany Redlarczyk of Lake Central High School has been named recipient of the 2003 IHSAA Girls Track and Field Mental Attitude Award, presented annually to an outstanding senior participant in the girls track and field state finals.  The recipient of the award, who was nominated by her principal and coach, must excel in mental attitude, scholarship, leadership and athletic ability in the sport.

 

Tiffany was a state champion in the 3200 Meter Run in 2001 and runner-up in that event last year.  She had a 10th place finish on Saturday.  She was also the second place finisher in the 1600 Meter Run in 2002 and was fifth this year.  Named senior athlete of the year at Lake Central, she is also a member of the school basketball and cross country teams and was selected to train at the U.S. Olympic Development Center.

 

Academically, Tiffany ranks 50th in her class of 611 and is a member of the National Honor Society.  She will move on to the University of Arkansas, with a major in Physical Therapy.

 

She is active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Church Handbells Youth Group, Teen Praise Band and works with the homeless shelter, the March of Dimes and Jump Rope for Heart.

 

Tiffany is the daughter of Tamara and Terry Redlarczyk of Dyer, Indiana.

 

Farm Bureau Insurance, IHSAA corporate partner of all IHSAA state tournaments, presented a check for $1,000 to Lake Central High School in the name of Tiffany Redlarczyk.
