Herman F. Keller Mental Attitude Award

At the conclusion of the state finals, the IHSAA Executive Committee will present the Herman F.
Keller Mental Attitude Award to the outstanding senior participant in the Boys Swimming and Diving
State Finals.
The award, renamed in 1974, honors the former IHSAA assistant commissioner who served the
association from 1961-73.
The recipient, nominated by his principal and coach, must excel in mental attitude, scholarship,
leadership, and athletic ability in swimming and diving. Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance will pres-
ent a $1,000 scholarship to the school in the name of the recipient. Since 1989, over $629,000 in
college scholarships have been presented by Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance to deserving high
