Welcome to this Special Thanks to Our Host
championship event
For more than 100 years, the IHSAA has enjoyed
being a part of the journey to adulthood for thousands
of young Hoosiers. Knowing that the student-athletes
we meet today will be the leaders of tomorrow, we are
grateful for the opportunity to help them as they learn
valuable life lessons through athletics.
Ben Davis High School
Currently in Indiana, over 160,000 students from 411 www.wayne.k12.in.us
different IHSAA member schools participate in high
school athletics. From our perspective, participation in State Finals Personnel
athletics is an integral part of the educational process.
At the IHSAA we believe Assigned Umpire Crews
that the athletic arena is an Class A
extension of the classroom. David Bogard, Bob Storms, Larry Higgins
The national organization Class 2A
for high school athletics, the Michiael Shannon, Phil Vidito, Tom Mecklenburg
National Federation of State
High School Associations Class 3A
Ronald Lowe, Dean Mlynarczyk, Harold Howell
(NFHS) has used the slogan,
“Athletics, the other half of Class 4A
education.” We believe that Thomas Thomason, Gary Weideman, Roger Holder
is a very accurate adage.
There are many things to be Tournament Directors
learned through athletics that may not be a part of the Tournament Administrator
regular classroom setting including lessons such as, Sandy Searcy, IHSAA Assistant Commissioner
self-discipline, the value of teamwork, the importance Ben Davis
of dedication and commitment. Each of these can Joel McKinney, Principal
have a dramatic impact on today’s youth as they Kevin Britt, Co-Athletic Director
John Clark, Co-Athletic Director
prepare to become the leaders of tomorrow. Whether Scott Williams, Asst. Athletic Director
it’s their ability to deal with success or overcome great
adversity, the important lessons learned will last a Athletic Training Staff

lifetime. Each experience helps shape who one is and
who they will become. Program Credits
