2010 Tournament in Review




                  CARMEL COMPLETES UNDEFEATED SEASON
                                                  Vasudevan, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 2 doubles
                                                  for Carmel’s first two points. The clinch-
                                                  ing point came at No. 1 doubles when
                                                  Chris Bertolini and Pat O’Neill topped
                                                  Seth Gochnauer and Rico Lumanlan,
                                                  6-4, 6-4. Yee finished 25-0, Dunn and
                                                  McMahan finished 24-0 and it was the
                                                  first loss of the year for Gochnauer and
                                                  Lumanlan (13-1).
                                                       Conor Cunningham’s 6-3, 1-6, 6-4,
                                                  win over Mark Kite at No. 3 singles was
                                                  Carmel’s fourth victory.
                                                       Brebeuf Jesuit’s Dougie Barnard
                                                  (20-1-1), the defending state singles
                                                  champion, tallied the lone point for the
                                                  Braves which were playing in the state
                                                  championship match for the first time
                                                  under the current format. Brebeuf had
                                                  won the 1973 state title under a differ-
                                                  ent scoring system. Barnard defeated
                                                  Mihir Kumar, 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 at No. 1
                                                  singles handing the Carmel player his
