Last Year’s State Finals in Review


                   EVANSVILLE MEMORIAL BEATS SOUTH BEND ST. JOSEPH
                                FOR GIRLS 2A SOCCER TITLE
            Evansville Memorial used a strong first half   senior forward assisted sophomore Kirsten Parker
         performance to claim a 3-1 victory over South Bend   in the 30th minute and added a goal of her own just

                                               St. Joseph ended its campaign with a 21-3 record as
                                               well and were making a third trip to the state finals in
                                               the last four years.






              COLUMBUS NORTH TOPS WARSAW 1-0 FOR FIRST SOCCER TITLE

            Columbus North, the 2011 runner-up,      Columbus North finished its championship season with
         scored an early goal and played solid   a record of 17-1-4 under Coach Andy Glover while Warsaw,

            The only goal in what was a fast-paced
         match came in the ninth minute of the match
         from Columbus North Senior Brad Shaw.
         Shaw, the Bull Dogs’ leading goal scorer,
         was assisted by junior midfielder Keaton
         Voegerl on the play.

            Both sides had opportunities to score but
         the game was clearly dominated by defense.
         Columbus North senior Chase Francouer
         recorded his sixth shutout of the season as
         the Bull Dogs allowed only 5 shots on goal.
         The Tigers were led by senior forward Diego
         Lopez who recorded 4 shots and 2 shots on
         goal.
