Last Year’s Boys State Meet
Two Individual Champions Help Greyhounds To
Second Track and Field Title
Two individual champions helped
Carmel to its second-ever IHSAA boys
track and field state title and first since
2000 at the Robert C. Haugh Track &
Field Complex in Bloomington.
The Greyhounds accumulated 49
points to outpace runner-up Ben Davis
with 36.75 and third-place Warren
Central with 36.
Coach Ken Browner’s team was
paced by a pair of first place finishes
from sophomore Jalen Walker, who
posted a 37.74 in the 300 hurdles, and
junior Ben Veatch, who ran a blazing
8:53.77 in the 3200. The Greyhounds’
were also the beneficiaries of top five
finishes in three different field events.
2014-15 State Champions
Two seniors, Vince Laconi and
Isaac James, both finished fourth in the Event Champion School Time/Dist./Ht.
