Mental Attitude Award

At the conclusion of the state finals, the IHSAA Executive Committee presents
the Fred A. Keesling Mental Attitude Award to an outstanding senior participant in
the boys golf state tournament. The recipient of this award, who was nominated
by his principal and coach, must excel in mental attitude, scholarship, leader-
ship and athletic ability in golf. This award is named in honor of the late Fred A.
Keesling, who directed the IHSAA Boys Golf Tournament from 1947-70. Indiana
Farm Bureau Insurance, IHSAA corporate partner, presents a $1,000 scholarship
to the school’s general scholarship fund in the name of the recipient.
