2017-18: Financial Review
The IHSAA 2017-18
Financial Review
The IHSAA not only makes an effort to operate as efficiently as
possible, it also provides its member-schools with an extensive
list of products and services, amenities that many high schools
in Indiana would be hard-pressed to provide for themselves.
Included are catastrophic medical insurance for all 410 of
its schools, rule books and other publications and an array of
web-based software products.
At the same time, it returns a significant amount of money every
year to its membership in the form of reimbursements and
stipends. In fact, the IHSAA returned over $2.67 million to its 410
member-schools during the 2017-18 school year. And unlike many
state associations, it does not charge any of its schools an annual
membership fee or any tournament entry fees.
The IHSAA has only four sources of income: ticket sales to tour-
nament events, official licensing fees, radio, television and internet
rights fees and corporate partnerships. A special thank you is
extended to our corporate partners. The value of their commitment
to high school sports in Indiana cannot be overstated.
