Every year, the IHSAA presents C. Eugene Cato Memorial Scholarships to 13 student-athletes who have
demonstrated excellence in academics, community involvement, sportsmanship and citizenship. All 13
winners are awarded a $2,500 scholarship. Cato served as Commissioner of the IHSAA from 1983 to 1995.
