2016–17: Financial Review

As this year’s financial review illustrates, the IHSAA not only

continues to provide essential services to its member-schools,

it also establishes and maintains a state office, employs a

commissioner, executive staff and support staff to administer

interschool activities, and is responsible for staging 21 state

tournaments involving 160,000 student athletes, hundreds of

members-schools, and countless educators and volunteers.

It’s an enormous job requiring organization, commitment and

efficiency. And yet, as the following paragraphs point out, the

IHSAA still operates in such a way that it is able to return a

substantial amount of revenue to its member schools.
