The Story of Emma Wright

Although separated in age
by two years, Emma and her
brother, Nathan, are best
friends. Nathan also is a
competitive swimmer at Hobart
High School and hopes to
someday become an officer in
the U.S. Army.

One of the best things about
participating in high school sports
is the unconditional friendships
that are formed, and not just
with members of your own team.
That’s why it was natural for
Emma to give Kristina Paegle, a
sophomore at Bloomington South
High School, a heartfelt hug, even
though Kristina had just finished
first in the same event Emma won
last year.

Emma’s parents and brother,
Nathan, are her biggest fans.
Moms and dads of high school
athletes, can you relate?
